About the Role

The Aviation Safety Officer supports the Safety, Quality & Compliance department with the day-to-day management of the Safety Management System.

Tasks & responsibilities

• Assist with the management of safety reports.
• Assist with the collation and analysis of trend data and preparation of meeting packs for Safety Meetings
• Assist in the conduct of audits and the follow-up of effective implementation of corrective actions.
• Assist with internal safety investigations and the follow-up of effective implementation of corrective actions.
• Assist with maintaining the Safety Database including supporting systems, processes and documentation.
• Assist with the Risk Assessment Register process and the corresponding Risk Assessment of identified hazards.
• Assist with the development and amendment of safety publications and safety training.
• Actively participate in the Emergency Response Plan and its associated training exercises.
• Act as the minute taker for all safety meetings.
• Encourage a positive safety culture and promoting safety awareness amongst all levels within our organisation.
• Provide timely advice and assistance on safety matters to staff at all levels within our organisation.

Qualifications & experience

• High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Experience in safety management systems in the aviation industry is desirable but not required.
• Auditor Qualifications (desirable).
• Background in Aviation (desirable).
