Sicim is currently looking for a coating & Oaiting Inspector for one of our project based in Germany. The Coating & Painting Inspector is responsible for performing quality control and inspection activities related to surface preparation and application of protective coating systems on pipelines and related facilities. The role ensures full compliance with project specifications, international standards, and HSE requirements typical of the Oil & Gas sector. Main Responsibilities - Verify surface preparation activities including blasting, cleaning and surface profile in accordance with applicable standards (e.g. ISO 8501 / ISO 8503).
- Inspect and monitor coating and painting application for pipeline projects, including:
- 3LPE
- GRP/ GFK Pipe coating
- Field Joint Coating
- Pipe Coating repair
- Monitor and record environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, dew point).
- Perform visual and instrumental inspections, including:
- Dry Film Thickness (DFT)
- During Cold tape coating verify the correct application
- Holiday / Porosity testing
- Adhesion testing
- Verify coating materials, paints and consumables against approved TDS / PDS and project specifications.
- Prepare and maintain inspection documentation, including daily reports, NCRs and punch lists.
- Interface with Client, Contractor and Subcontractors to resolve quality issues and non-conformities.
- Support internal and external audits and inspections.
- Ensure compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) requirements at site.
- Mandatory Certification:
- NACE Level 2 or FROSIO Level 3
- English Language
- Minimum 5 years of experience as Coating / Painting Inspector on Oil & Gas pipeline projects.
- Strong knowledge of international standards, including:
- ISO 8501 / 8503 / 8504
- ISO 12944
- NACE / SSPC
- Proven experience with coating inspection instruments and testing equipment.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings, specifications and quality plans.
