BCHA is a charitable housing association that provides housing, support, and learning opportunities to vulnerable individuals and families across the South and South West of England. We support people who are homeless, fleeing domestic abuse, recovering from addiction, affected by mental health challenges, or escaping modern slavery. BCHA offers a range of services including safe and supported accommodation, outreach programs, training in life and employment skills, and access to trauma-informed support.
We’re looking for a passionate and experienced Senior Practitioner to lead the operational delivery of BCHA’s Mental Health Floating Support Service. This is a key role supporting adults to maintain their tenancies, improve wellbeing, and achieve greater independence through practical, person-centred support.
You’ll oversee the day-to-day running of the service, providing guidance and direction to a skilled and compassionate team who deliver tailored support to individuals experiencing mental health challenges. Working closely with partners across housing, health, and community services, you’ll ensure that each person we support receives the right help at the right time.
As Senior Practitioner, you’ll: - Lead and support a team of Floating Support Workers to deliver high-quality, trauma-informed support.
- Manage referrals, assessments, and caseload allocation, ensuring effective service delivery and positive outcomes.
- Provide reflective supervision, coaching, and development opportunities for your team.
- Monitor service performance, compliance, and health & safety responsibilities — including checks such as fire safety, legionella, and access arrangements for compliance testing.
- Work collaboratively with internal and external partners to strengthen pathways into community-based support and recovery services.
This is a pivotal operational role that requires strong leadership, excellent communication, and a deep understanding of mental health and housing-related support. You’ll play a vital part in shaping a responsive, empowering service that helps people sustain tenancies, build resilience, and live fulfilling lives.
In return, we offer: - A supportive, values-led organisation with a strong team ethos
- Ongoing training and professional development in trauma-informed and psychologically informed approaches
- Opportunities to influence service design and innovation
- A genuinely rewarding role where your leadership makes a tangible difference in people’s lives
If you’re committed to supporting people’s mental health recovery and housing stability — and want to lead a team that truly changes lives — we’d love to hear from you.
