Malteurop produces 2,3 million tons of malt manufactured in its 23 factories around the world (Europe, North America, Mexico, Oceania, Asia). One in 10 beers consumed worldwide contains malt made in our plants. We are partners of the large brewing groups that we have followed in their international growth.
This position has been developed to drive the Safety principles and guarantee consistency, harmonization and reliability of the Company’s Systems and functions. The position is designed to ensure the Company meets and exceeds Integrated Management Systems standards and that opportunities for improvement are identified and implemented. The role may evolve over time and the incumbent’s commitment and resourcefulness will be fundamental to its success. Operational · Lead and Coordinate Malteurop’s ISO 45001 program, OHS & CARE initiatives, and various Compliance requirements to meet relevant standards and drive improvements, · Lead and actively participate in QHSE ISOs and Customer audits to ensure Company compliance, · Organize and lead Safety projects and Safety Committee meetings on a regular basis to review indicators and proficiency, · Provide Monthly Safety Systems report. · Represent the company at industry functions, committees and other bodies as required, Job Responsabilities · Facilitates all government safety inspections for designated location(s) and responds in a timely manner in coordination with facility management to inquiries/inspections by loss control service provider and government agencies. · Visit each location to ensure compliance in safety services. · Maintain all safety reports, logs and other documentation to ensure compliance with the Company IMS and the OHS Act. Perform accident investigations, conducts safety audits to ensure compliance with company & · governmental regulations, and ensures understanding and enforcement of plant safety rules. · Ensure effective management of worker’s compensation claims to facilitate successful return-to-work outcomes, including plan for and implement (in consultation with the employee, their manager and their treating health practitioner) the employee’s safe return to work and take steps to prevent a recurrence or aggravation of the injury, consulting the Human Resources department as required; · Ensures that all operations are conducted in accordance with all existing federal, state, local, corporate, and Safety operating policies and procedures, including site inspection. · Develop and support necessary training initiatives with preparation, presentation of required Safety training and training programs for the Malteurop corporate and plant employees. · Develop new and creative ways to keep the workforce engaged in safety. · Keep abreast of changes in laws and technology. General · The role will require enthusiasm, leadership skills and a high degree of commitment to participate in achieving the Company’s targets in terms of Safety. A methodical approach to all work duties, a pronounced attention to detail and an openness to seek explanations will be valuable attributes in this position, · Ensure conformance to all relevant policies and procedures and relevant Acts and Legislation, · Display behaviours in line with Malteurop trademark behaviours at all times. Ensure adherence and obligation to observe all health and workplace safety, environment, food safety, requirements in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004 (Vic), the Environment Protection Act 2017 (Vic), ISO 14001 (Environmental Management Systems), and FSSC 22000 (Food Safety Management Systems).Undertake other duties as required by the Company including project work and corrective action initiatives.
To join our team, you have: - Tertiary qualifications in Science, Environmental Health Safety Management or a related discipline (Engineering with strong safety environment exposure)
- Preferable: minimum of 10 years or more of hands-on safety experience in a manufacturing setting with 5 years management experience
