Hope for Justice is a charity working to bring freedom from human trafficking and modern slavery with an effective and proven multi-disciplinary model. Our wholly owned social enterprise, Slave-Free Alliance, provides services to global companies and public bodies seeking to protect their operations and supply chains against the risks of modern slavery and labour exploitation. We have active programmes in the UK, USA, Ethiopia and Uganda, reaching approximately 200,000 adults and children a year. We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and enthusiastic Church Partner and Donor Relations Advisor to join our UK Philanthropy team on a full time basis. The Church Partner and Donor Relations Advisor plays an integral role in identifying, nurturing and securing relationships and income from new and existing mid-level donors and church partners, and growing the portfolio and income on a month by month basis. You will lead on the strategic engagement with churches, raising awareness and building impactful relationships, which will include managing and collaborating on events. The ideal candidate will be an outstanding communicator, relationship-builder and problem-solver to take us to the next level in the way we interact with donors and church partners. You will have experience in public speaking and event planning, as well as CRM management and supporting in analysis of the data and wider strategic planning.
Main Duties - Develop and manage a portfolio of mid-level donors and church partners, cultivating new supporters and strengthening existing relationships.
- Drive income generation by securing one-off and regular gifts from individuals and church networks, meeting monthly and annual fundraising targets.
- Lead strategic engagement with churches, representing Hope for Justice at events, conferences, and gatherings to raise awareness and build impactful partnerships.
- Project manage partnership initiatives, including collaborations with external organisations and the creation of engaging events for church communities (e.g., anti-slavery week, Christmas, Easter).
- Ensure accurate recording and reporting of donor and church income data in the CRM system, supporting analysis and strategic planning.
- Collaborate with Philanthropy, Communications, and Digital teams to deliver effective donor and church engagement strategies.
- Uphold GDPR and safeguarding standards in all interactions, ensuring compliance and care for all stakeholders.
- Innovate and adapt, bringing fresh ideas to donor and church engagement and responding to emerging opportunities.
- Annually evaluate and refine our church engagement strategy in partnership with the US Church Partners leader as well as the CPO
- Develop from staff and volunteers a group of speakers we can send to churches for gatherings and events, and coach them for effective communication and follow up
