We are looking for an experienced UX Designer / Cognitive Ergonomist to join our HMI Design Division, contributing to the definition of functional logics and interaction specifications for vehicle interfaces. This position offers the opportunity to take part in a new, highly challenging international project within our HMI Division — an initiative that requires strong analytical skills, creativity, and a global mindset.
The ideal candidate is motivated to work in international contexts and willing to travel when necessary to collaborate closely with partners and clients. The role involves: - Designing and formalizing interaction flows, system logics, and user behaviors across HMI components;
- Writing UX specifications and functional documentation for implementation teams;
- Ensuring consistency with automotive standards and regulations (e.g., ISO, UNECE, usability and safety guidelines);
- Collaborating with UX/UI designers, engineers, and human factors specialists to ensure design coherence;
- Supporting validation and review of HMI concepts with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
A senior or mid-level professional with solid experience in automotive UX/HMI design, preferably with a background in Cognitive Ergonomics, Human Factors, or Interaction Design. Preferred backgrounds: - Cognitive Psychology / Ergonomics
- Human Factors Engineering
- Interaction Design / UX Design
- or related disciplines with experience in the automotive field
Desired skills and experience- Proven experience in HMI / UX design for automotive systems;
- Strong ability to analyze and formalize user flows and logic structures;
- Experience writing functional specifications and defining interaction logic;
- Familiarity with automotive UX standards, usability and safety regulations;
- Ability to collaborate within multidisciplinary and international teams;
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal;
- Willingness to travel occasionally to support project activities on-site.
Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week, with flexibility in workdays based on project needs.
Location: Based in Reggio Emilia, with extensive on-site collaboration abroad, especially in regions outside Europe during the early project phases.
